Silk Care

The Gentle Wash

  • Prepare & Soak: Fill a basin with lukewarm water (max 30°C) and add a specialized pH-neutral silk detergent. Swirl to distribute. Submerge the garment and gently agitate with your hands.

  • Time Control: Soak for only 3–5 minutes. Avoid over-soaking, as this can weaken the natural protein fibers.

  • Rinse: Drain and refill with clean, cool water. Rinse by gently lifting the garment in and out of the water until all suds are gone. Never wring or twist silk.

 Drying with Care

  • The Towel Roll: Lay the wet garment flat on a clean, white towel. Roll the towel up like a sleeping bag and press gently to absorb excess moisture.

  • Air Dry: Unroll and lay flat on a drying rack or hang on a padded hanger.

  • Crucial Rule: Always dry in the shade. Direct sunlight or proximity to radiators will cause the silk to become brittle and yellow.

Removing Wrinkles

  • The Steam Method (Recommended): Use a professional steamer for a crisp, smooth finish. Ensure the garment is clean before steaming.

  • The Damp Cloth Barrier: If using a traditional iron, set it to the "Silk" or "Low" setting. Place a thin, damp cloth between the iron and the silk to prevent scorching.

  • The Shower Trick: For a quick refresh, hang your garment in the bathroom while you take a warm shower. The steam will naturally relax the fibers.

  • The Quick Fix: Use a specialized silk-safe wrinkle release spray for minor creases. Lightly mist and gently tug the fabric into shape.
